Cuarteto Farol is a group of musicians who are passionate about Tango music.
The band first formed 4 years ago as Quinteto Farol and at that time included Ross Bolleter on Piano and Kathy Potter on violin. The band played several shows around Perth including a very successful night at Kulcha, and many social Milonga dances, and restaurant performances.
The new Cuarteto Farol formed in May 2004, and played at several restaurants, birthdays and weddings. Their first big show as the new Cuarteto Farol was at the 4th Annual Tango Ball at the Pagoda on the 25th September, 2004, when they were accompanied by Ross Bolleter on piano.
Since then, the band has played at several
social Tango dances, a joint show with a Flamenco Academy in East
Fremantle, Kulcha in Fremantle, the Dome Cafe, Fremantle, the Subiaco
Street Party, the Perth Theatre Company, Mandurah City Council,
Joondalup City Festival, the 2005 and 2006 WAMi and Fairbridge
Festivals, His Majesty's, the National Tango Festival in Melbourne, City of Melville, City of Perth as well as many corporate launches, weddings and birthdays.
