THE MOST RECENT NEWS WILL ALWAYS BE FOUND ON MY WEBLOG - JUST INKING

July 2009

For those who haven't heard, two wonderful authors will be attending 2010's Swancon in Perth - Scott Sigler and Ian Irvine. Can't wait to meet them!

My literary idol, James Herbert, is the Special Guest of Honour at next year's World Horror Con in Brighton, England. I would give anything to go and see him (and many more incredible writers), but alas, the money isn't there yet...

I am one of three judges to compile the shortlist for the 2009 Australian Shadows Awards.

I was also recently nominated for a 2009 Ditmar Award (Best Fan Writer, for my reviews on HorrorScope), presented in Adelaide during the Conjecture convention. I didn't win, but it's an honour to be nominated! Thank you all.

June 2009

Congratulations to this year's winners of the 2009 Ditmar Award. Some very deserving works there, but really every category was extremely tight - a great showcase of the talent here in Australia.

OLD POSTS (I HAVE RETAINED SOME POSTS FOR SENTIMENTAL REASONS):

June 2008

I have just finished my mentorship with author Martin Livings, who has made me feel very confident and proud of my latest novel (a crime thriller, title to be disclosed at a later date). Martin is a wonderful writer - if you read short fiction in Australia, chances are you've already enjoyed his work. If you prefer novels, check out his work, 'Carnies', which won a Tin Duck award, Best WA Professional Long Work 2007. Check out Martin's work/bio at Martin Livings author page or Martin Living LiveJournal page.
