Firebird Power Patch and DeadBeef HDD PatchWhen the power fails the Topfield clock loses the time. If the Topfield was in standby mode when the power failed then when the power is resumed the Topfield will return to standby mode. This means that the clock does not have the correct time and no timers will fire until the Topfield is switched on and the clock is set. The same is true for the Masterpiece although the clock will not lose the time. The Firebird patch will make the Topfield boot to ON mode when the power is resumed even if it was in standby mode when the power failed. This allows the clock to be set to the broadcast time if you are using "Auto Time" or the clock to be set by PBK if you are using "Manual Time". There is an optional TAP which will set the Topfield to a specific channel after power failure and then switch the Topfield back to standby after a user definable period of time. This TAP is not required if you are running PBK and manual time, in fact if you are running PBK then this TAP will not switch the Topfield off as the action of PBK setting the manual time will make the TAP think that someone is watching the Topfield. I will modify PBK to return the Topfield to standby mode after setting the time if no one is watching the Topfield.
