STIRF What It Does Displays a screen showing spare EPG entries in your .rec files, allowing you to select and activate them (i.e. move an EPG entry from being a spare to being the one displayed by your Toppy). Also renames your files to suit the show name/subtitle (in various combinations that you can choose from). After starting and configuring the TAP, then when you are browsing your .rec files in the File List, press the subtitle key to activate the STIRF screen (5800 users press Recall). When the blue STIRF screen loads there is a help area at the bottom.Versions from 0.05 onwards have a module to automatically fix EPG data in .rec files in the background. This only works when you turn it on from the config menu. It works by continually monitoring all your recordings and keeping a log of the EPG data current during them. Then at the end of each recording (or at next boot-up) it chooses the most appropriate EPG entry from all those that occurred during your recording, and applies that to your file (spares after that are added so you can see them in the Stirf GUI screen later if you want). So your rec files should, in general, end up with the correct EPG data (not the EPG from the show before, which is so annoying). Please read the manual in the zip file. New Features: Please just read the readme file! :-) TAP Download STIRF v1.21 BEFORE YOU START: make sure the first thing you do when you load this TAP is to set your hardware type in the config menu (press Exit to get the config menu, or use TSRCommander). This is very important, especially if you have a 5800 (by the way, you 5800 guys can press the Recall key in the file list to activate STIRF - everyone else press Subtitle). If you have a 5100 then try the Procaster option first. In general if the STIRF screen will never load from the File List for you, then check your hardware setting. But: if you have a 5800, NEVER use any other setting. STIRF will create (and maintain) an ini file in the program files directory automatically. you can edit it on your PC if you like, but you're better off just doing it via the config menu of the TAP. The zip file includes a fairly detailed description of STIRF, please read it if you're not familiar with the TAP.Contact Author Michael Stock |
