Mary Walters Bursary ($3,500) - Ms Wendy Grace
PhD Candidate University of Western Australia. Ms Grace expects to submit her thesis “Michel Foucault's Power: beyond the Desires of French Psychoanalysis” by the end of 2009.
Jill Bradshaw Bursary ($3,000) - Ms Monique Sakalidis
PhD Candidate Murdoch University. Ms Sakalidis' thesis is based on latent pathogens within the fungal family Botryosphaeriaceae. In particular she has examined cryptic species that have been known to cause disease on numerous plant hosts both in native forest ecosystems, plantations and horticultural crops.

PhD Candidate University of Western Australia. Ms Tyler‟s PhD research involves developing an instrument capable of examining ferrofluid (magnetic fluid) behaviour.
