Oracle Audit/Health CheckCompanies who use the Oracle RDBMS to host business applications recognize that database administration is an essential part of the on-going care and maintenance. Many of these applications may be business critical. As new applications come on-line, older applications are retired and existing applications are modified (and/or grow in usage and complexity) the physical and logical disposition of the various Oracle components can become less efficiently organised. Often performance can become adversely affected. Strategically it may pass unnoticed that existing business problems could be addressed by improving inter-application interfacing via Oracle functionality. "Bridging" between Oracle databases could provide improved or badly needed "enterprise wide" and/or Decision Support Solution reporting. A worst case scenario could include inadequate future proofing of existing Oracle based applications. In order to assess potential problems and provide meaningful solutions, Britannic Data Solutions has formulated an Oracle Audit which comprises the following activities: 1. On-site review of all Oracle applications
2. On-site review of business activity and back-up capability
3. On-site review of corporate reporting needs
4. Business process inter-dependency analysis
5. Preparation of post-audit recommendations and report
6. Implementation of audit recommendations as required. Oracle Database Administration |
