VMR 610 Radio Procedures
Anytime you leave the launching ramp or your mooring, switch on your
marine radio, tune to channel 88, then call VMR 610 and give your own call sign.
The Operator will ask you to change to a working frequency (channel 90).
Then give your Departure Point, Destination, the number of People on Board and your E.T.A. or E.T.R. (estimated time of arrival or return).
Leave your radio on and tuned to channel 88 for the duration of your trip.
(power drain on 'receive' is negligible).
IF YOUR DESTINATION OR E.T.A. CHANGE, INFORM THE OPERATOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. THIS WILL AVOID A FALSE ALARM OR UNNECESSARY SEARCH.
On your arrival/return, call VMR 610 and inform the base operator who
will then sign you off.
