Birds have been involved in contract crushing since the mid 1980’s. In the early stages of contract crushing we constructed our own plant. This helped us understand all stages of the processes required in crushing and screening and encouraged us to investigate different techniques and plant types.
For the first few years the company undertook small and relatively simple contracts all the while gaining knowledge and increasing the plant capability to the point we could confidently take on more complex job specifications.
By the mid 1990’s Bird’s Mobile Crushing were contracting throughout Victoria and New South Wales on large scale and high specification jobs, including jobs to shires producing base and sub-base materials. Shires which we contracted to included Campaspe, Cobar, Corowa, Romsey, Gannawarra and Upper Yarra Shires.
Work has also been carried out in the Forestry regions producing materials to make roads in for logging vehicles. This work has been done for Department of Environment and Natural Resources NSW, State Forestry, Parks Victoria and Victoria Pine Corporation.
