Joseph RICE 1826 - 1903 m. 1852. Joseph was born in Waddesdon Buchinghamshire England and baptised in the Church of St Michael and All Angels on 24 December 1826. He was the first child of James RICE (bapt 1801) and Ann PIGGOT (bapt 1805). Thomas RICE (bapt 1808) was Joseph's uncle. Joseph arrived at Sydney on board Scotia on 9 July 1849. It is not known how he travelled to South Australia. He settled in theWilunga district. |

| John RICE 1829 - 1896 m. 1860. John was born at Waddesdon Buchinghamshire England and baptised in the Church of St Michael and All Angels on 22 Feb 1829. He was the second child of James RICE (bapt 1801) and Anne PIGGOTT (bapt 1805). Thomas Rice (bapt 1808) was John's uncle. John arrived at Port Adelaide on board Surge on 2 Jun 1852. He went to Lyndoch where Thomas and his family lived and eventually settled at Sandy Creek and remained in the district all his life. He is recorded in the Lyndoch rate books as being the owner of land at Sandy Creek (1866/67). |

He was the third child of James Rice (bapt 1801) and Anne Piggott (bapt 1805). Thomas Rice (bapt 1808) was James uncle. James arrived at Port Adelaide on board Anglia on 20 May 1852. He lived at Willaston for most of his life. |
