Doff has lived in Melbourne, following childhood in Clare (South Australia) and Coleraine (Victoria ), proceeding to nursing training and work in Adelaide and Melbourne. Art interests started early, with dress design, floral art, and then ceramic pottery. This led to 23 years as partner in " Laburnum Gallery" with seven other potters. During this time study of Sumi-e with Andrew Sollier provided a basis for painting studies. Doff has been a member of the Hawthorn Artists Society for nine years, working in watercolour, oils and acrylic painting, including an interest in acrylic painting on the back of glass. Travel has been a great inspiration during many years - with her family, and recently on tours with Margaret Cowling in Northern Australia and in Italy. |
