So many years he had trained for this day. Many unknown dangers
he would face.
Through all this he never prayed; his faith was in the hands of men.
Countdown proceeded; lift off succeeded.
G-forces pressed him downwards while the power of liquid fuel blasted him
skywards.
Thus Yuri Gagarin flew into space - and into History.
INHERITANCE
He was bewitched by her. For her he disrupted lives and kingdoms.
Tragically, when her attraction failed and - more importantly - she failed
to produce a son - she was beheaded.
But from her grave Anne Boleyn had the last laugh.
Their red headed daughter Elizabeth became an even greater monarch than her
bad tempered father Henry.
WATCHCAT
"We've been burgled!"
"Is the cat okay?"
"Damn the cat - what about my video! And my stereo!"

"Forget about that animal!"
"But - I forgot to feed her. Oh dear. Aah, she's all right. She's licking
her chops.
See, the burglars didn't get away." Smugly. "I told you a leopard would
be a wonderful pet."
THE MUMMY
It was found hidden deep within an unknown Pharaoh's tomb.
While it was being removed there were three casualties.
One died; one was crippled and the third lost a hand. Two sailors on the ship
bringing it to London fell from the rigging and drowned.
Many of the crew developed serious unexplained fevers. Several of them died.
Inexplicable accidents occurred in every museum that handled it. Each disposed
of it as rapidly as possible.
Eventually it was sold but no museum wanted it.
Its new wealthy American owner arranged for it to be shipped across the Atlantic
- on the Titanic.
