I've always, up until a couple of years ago, owned a cat. Or more correctly, a cat has owned me. Please read on and make the acquaintance of some of the cats I have known over the years.
SnowyWe owned Snowy when our sons were younger. Sadly, one day he made the fatal error of trying to cross a busy highway. Even worse, we were out when this happened and it fell to our elder son to bury the cat.
JessJess was playful, along with the other cat we owned at the time, and whom you will meet next. But one day Jess just disappeared. We looked and called and asked around, but he just never came home. I suspect he also was hit by a car, but I like to think he just found somewhere else he wanted to live.
ToddlesThis cat would have been a dumb blond if he had been human. He really was the classic 'thick and furry' cat.
Kiddles
Oh, Kiddles was my last and favourite cat. Unfortunately he displayed anti-social behaviour by terrorising the neighbour's birds. So we had to find him a new home. Not easy; Kiddles was an adult cat and not of the cute and cuddly variety. When I went to see how he was getting on with his new people, he was asleep on the floor in their bedroom. He opened one eye, looked at me as if to say, 'Bugger off, I'm trying to sleep.' And that was that. I'm sure he's forgotten me, but I will always remember him.
Some of the Cats I Have Now![]()
They don't require food, don't wander around the neighbourhood, and don't hassle birds. But then I can't cuddle them, either, can I.
