We provide an annual program of arts activites for the Denmark community. We offer arts info and project support to local arts groups and artists. Brave New Works is an annual festival featuring new and emerging artists in all artforms, including multimedia. The dvtv (digital video television) project produced 4 short movies and multimedia content for this festival. The next project is to develop a tv program for community tv. Formed in 1980 to initiate an annual program. The program constantly changes in response to the needs of the arts community (this is its strength). Membership is open to all or through participation in workshops, exhibitions, shows, markets or volunteer work in festival projects - or just bring a creative idea to the Arts Office for support. Access by phone, mail, fax, email, word of mouth or pigeon. Our program provides for all sectors of the community interested in creative, innovative arts activities. At least four special projects annually, some free events, special deals for youth and members. We plan to establish a Youth Arts Panel to facilitate young artist's aspiriations and encourage participation in community arts. Noise will be used as the 'catalyst' to initiate employment and training for youth within projects... A website at www.wn.com.au/artists has been linked to www.denmarkarts.com.au to profile young emerging artists. Just click on the YOOF! button.
