I have put together a few pics of the latest modding I have completed on my computer "H20 BitchThing" recently... I wanted a clean uncluttered look while not being over the top. I decided on a Black Gloss finish for the exterior and chassis along with polished aluminium panels, concealed wiring, green fluro fans and cold cathodes to give it a "lil" shine!

First up i designed a new grill for the front bezel, with plans to incorporate 2x80mm fans in front of the radiator I figured I would need a more open grill design to cater for the extra air flow. The openings were dremelled and steel mesh epoxied in place, Plasti-Bond was then applied to fill any unwanted gaps and create sides within the newly cut vents. An aluminium plate was cut to size with 2x80mm holes pre cut for mounting of the fans...the plate was polished and epoxied to the back of the bezel.

I will be using only one cd/dvd rom and one dvd/cd burner no floppy drives will be installed (haven't installed a floppy drive in a machine since XP was released) Thus I have decided to "close" these bays permenantly! The Drives installed will be stealthed with black perspex bent to match curved case profile (more on that in the pages that follow)

I thought before and after pictures would show this best.....

Case Modding

These above photos show the bezels as they were before they were given a final coat and a cut and polish, un-fortuneately before the final coat was applied I rubbed the panels down with a rag, doesn't sound too bad at this point but that rag had oil residue on it! Cut a long story short Im in the process of re-painting the panels again..should be finished tomorrow with a little luck. I have decided to join the two units together to form a one peice front now too...shall post pictures of this when complete.

Moving right along... The chassis itself was stripped of components additional openings cut for increased air flow and cooling and then given a sand down with wet and dry before coats of black gloss were applied
As you can see by the pictures a few extra openings have been cut! aside from the additional cooling holes however, the opening on the back panel was for something little different... more on that in pages to come ;-)
