Mates PC Mods
The following pages are dedicated to my mates computers that have 'visted' the garage to have work/mods etc...done on them. These pages will steadily grow as there are more up and comming mods in the works :-)
First PC belongs to my best mate Paul or Snapper as he is known to his friends, great bloke known him for nearly 20 years now! His computer consists of Tsunami case, AMD3200+CPU, Gigabyte mobo, 1gig DDR400ram, 400watt PSU, Nvidia5600 gfx card with Thermaltake heat pipe cooling, 80 gig hard drive, DVD/CD burner. In the cooling department it has just recently been hit with the 'water treatment' @ The Garage! Danger Den TDX cpu block, innovatek© radiator & UV blue mini coolshroud all connected with 1/2in.ClearFLEX tubing encased in UV reactive Coolsleeves™ . Cooler Master SAG-K01-U1 Liquid Cooling Thermal Conductivity Fluid fills the sysyem and is pumped by an Eheim 1048 Pump. Relay is custom made using same parts as seen on the relay page of this site (relay was however not constructed in this instance by myself, it came with the 2 blocks, radiator and pump that were won on ebay by myself for $172. Extra block was a Silverprop Evo! GREAT win! IMO)
Not a bad looking case the Tsunami, as can be seen in the picture to the left it has received a custom black tint window. The shape was a Snapper Fish design and cut by myself with the trusty dremel. Two 80mm fans (one intake one outtake) complete with Blade fan guards finish it off... Snapper wanted the front drive compartment covered from view and the focus on the rear end of the PC, I believe he has achieved this with the shape of window he designed...nice job bud :-)
Above pictures: A couple more side on pics of the window with and without fans lit. Pictures dont do it a scrap of justice it looks far far better in person. The black perspex makes the non fluro components ie.mobo, drives, wiring etc within the case 'less visible' it really makes the fluro and UV components stand out...very impressive look I think not over done but enough done to make it stand out from the stock case....
OK..To the interior of the PC. Snapper fitted the system himself my part was minor, I fabricated the cpu socket brackets and perspex plate to attach the Danger Den block...I gave a little advice/guidence too (not that it was really needed) It is the Big Fishes first H20 cooled PC! As can be seen Snapper went for an external rear mounted radiator the shroud /radiator & case all have double sided adhesive rubber tabe between them to provide an air tight seal, radiator & fan are attached with four long bolts through the case, the fan pulls air from the interior of the case and blows it through the radiator (Im not a fan of this type setup I prefer internal front mounted setups, I see no clear cut advantage performance wise, rear mounting you're blow warm air from case through radiaotr, front mount you blow cold air through radiaot BUT it exits radiaor warm and into case...comes down to the individual as to which way to go I think)

Left picture: Not the best of pics here im afraid, the camera doesn't seem to like the fluro lighting a great deal but it gives you some indication of the extent of the lighting in the PC. Needs a little attention on the wiring side of thngs apart from that it's quite a neat unit.

Snapps will be making a couple of 'adjustments' to the tubing attachment to eliminate the 'S' he's got happening on the tube connecting the radiator outlet to the pumps intake fitting. a 90 degree for the pumps intake (as used on H20 BitchThings Hydor pump) Would be the ideal solution, just a matter of finding one that will fit the Eheim pump! Paul isn't happy with the exsisting fitting on the Eheim, the outter collar that usually clamps the tubing to the lip wasn't used as it wouldn't fit over the ClearFLEX tubing due to the large outter diameter. The tube was pushed on and cable tied (Personally I think it's fine but agree a 90 degree fitting is needed)

Overall Snapper is very happy with the cooling and the performance @ last report cpu temp was sitting steady on 36 degrees this I believe will drop slightly as the few air bublles work their way out of the system.

A very worthy addition to The Garage! a neat system not over the top with mods and lit up like a Christmas tree! Big thanks to Snapper for the pictures & allowing me to add it to the pages of The Garage ...Thanks mate!

There are 3 more PC's that have passed through The Garage and come out the other side a 'little' different than when they went in hehe...pictures of these will be added in the not too distant future...
