I have been water cooling computers for
a few years now and my current computer (aptly name H20 BitchThing) is the
3rd that has been hit with the water treatment, it boasts both CPU & VGA
watercooling. The water blocks were designed by myself based upon an extremely
good block the White Water
that was designed back in 2002 by Little
River Water Blocks a small Aussie company. The blocks were machined
at a mates engineering work shop on his milling machine from a $20 solid copper
bar from scrap metal merchant. Below I have included pictures showing how
these exceptional performing water blocks were made.
____ ________

The
CPU water block is comprised of two seperate blocks 80mm in length 50mm wide
and 15mm thick. The base block has been milled to a depth of 12mm with the inclusion
of six 3mm high and 40mm long channels that are postioned above the CPU when
the waterblock is mounted. Three 1/2inch Dia 60mm long tubes were added, one
inlet and two outlets. When machining had been completed and the blocks cleaned
the halves were joined using JB Weld. The GPU block was also made of two brass
blocks 50mmx50mmx15mm and milled to the same depth as the CPU block, six channels
were milled into the block and two 1/2 inch Dia pipes used, one inlet one outlet.

Completed
CPU waterblock was filed, sanded, polished and the base lapped with 400, 800
and 1200 grit wet and dry sand paper and polished to a mirror finish. A mount
was fabricated from aluminium with springs providing the tensioning. The GPU
was prepared identically to the CPU block original GFX card mounting holes were
utilised and an aluminium bar with springs providing the tension to hold the
waterblock to the gfx card. With water blocks complete radiator and pump were
installed and 1/2 clear tube used to connect them all together.
