Prison Island is so called because it was in fact used as a prison. It was also the site of a two storied residense of one of the early settlers and can be walked to at low tide from Cemetery Point. A much photograped island because of its solitary nature and striking aquamarine water surrounding it. Horsburgh Island can be seen in the distance to the left of Prison Island and Direction Island is to the right.
