BABY NAMINGS

A Naming Ceremony is an alternative to a baptism or christening. It is a non-religious ceremony conducted by a celebrant.

A Naming Ceremony is a celebration by all of the people involved in your child’s life. It is an opportunity for all of you to express the unconditional love, care, support and encouragement that you will continue to provide to your child.

Multicultural traditions, values and beliefs can also be incorporated into a Naming Ceremony, and because a Naming Ceremony is non-religious, it enables the child to choose their own beliefs in regards to religion, when they are mature enough to make this decision.

Parents, God-Parents/Guardians/Sponsors and also grandparents are encouraged to be involved in the naming ceremony. An ideal location for a Naming ceremony is at a private home, a park or a garden.

I will help you create a customised ceremony that suits your requirements. You can have as much or as little input as you require to the actual creation of the ceremony. By incorporating special poems, readings, music and rituals, the ceremony can be tailored just for you.

As a special memento of the day, a printed Baby Naming Certificate is presented at the conclusion of the ceremony, as well as a printed copy of the ceremony, and also a pdf copy of the ceremony on a cd.

Please contact me by phone or email to make an appointment. I look forward to being part of your child's special Naming Day.

Children Learn What They Live

Dorothy Law Nolte (1959)

If a child lives with criticism, he learns to condemn . . .
If a child lives with hostility, he learns to fight . . .
If a child lives with fear, he learns to be apprehensive . . .
If a child lives with pity, he learns to feel sorry for himself . . .
If a child lives with ridicule, he learns to be shy . . .
If a child lives with jealousy, he learns to feel guilt . . .

BUT

If a child lives with tolerance, he learns to be patient . . .
If a child lives with encouragement, he learns to be confident . . .
If a child lives with praise, he learns to be appreciative . . .
If a child lives with acceptance, he learns to love . . .
If a child lives with honesty, he learns what truth is . . .
If a child lives with fairness, he learns justice . . .
If a child lives with security,

he learns to have faith in himself and those about him . . .
If a child lives with friendliness,

he learns the world is a nice place in which to live . . .
