These days, Civil Naming Ceremonies are very popular as an alternative to the more traditional religious Baptisms or Christenings. The Name Giving Ceremony is regarded as a modern cultural celebration, which has its roots in Roman times. The ceremony then becomes a public declaration of parental love, devotion and dedication for the child. This leaves the child free to choose a religious ceremony later in his/her life if this decision is made.

Your family members or friends can act as the child's "Guardians/Godparents/Mentors", in the same type of role as Traditional, Religious Godparents, and they are encouraged to participate in the ceremony by pledging their commitment to the child for the duration of their lives - and perhaps read a special verse for him/her. Your child will be presented with a special certificate to commemorate this special day.

The basic cost of a NAME GIVING ceremony includes one appointment at my home office. Further travel costs may be incurred depending on the distance travelled by the celebrant.
