The early bird catches..
My passions centre on videogames, films, food, and nature. i admire videogames and film for being an experience of yours or someone else's imagination in a form that can be shared. i'm not a fancy cook, not a terribly great cook, but i do alright. Love chocolate. For better and worse, my weight doesn't budge. i've got a country heart, happy out of the city, going hiking and camping.
i studied Bachelor Of Arts: Multimedia Design with Honours, majoring in interface design. Since then i've learnt a lot more myself in programming and video, also studied massage, and hungry for more. Ultimately, i'd like to create my own related film and videogame.
Nest and dreams.
i've grown up and continue to live in Perth, Western Australia. i think the world of my family and close friends, and most of them are here. i did live in Melbourne for a year; didn't like it, except for the beautiful Dandenong Ranges. If not Perth, i'd live in Brisbane. Now that place is fun.
i have my own house. It's nice inside, but the outside is, well, small. The neighbours are far too close. i dream of 5+ acres, mostly kept as natural bush reserve, an ample sized house with decked veranda and a salt water lap pool. i could happily live a couple of hours from the city. Just close enough for family, friends, and a bit of shopping or dining out on occasions.
As for the dream job, i'd be sitting on my back veranda, inside by the wide windows, or sitting a short walk away out on a boulder, with my laptop or classic pen and paper drawing, writing, programming, researching - essentially building and creating experiences.
What makes a blackbird9?
i assumed the alias blackbird9 about 7 years ago. "Blackbird" is a beautiful song, sung by Sarah McLachlan (one of my all time favourite artists), although i believe this was written by John Lennon. Friends have said the song does match me. i'll be a willy wagtail (not a blackbird, but similar) someday, because they're so cute, fly, and wiggle their bums all day.
The 9 is a lot less interesting. When originating the name, "blackbird" itself was currently in use. i lived at unit 3 of number 3 on the street. Somehow that made 9. |
