I live in Castlereagh in the Nepean Valley (western Sydney, Australia) with my husband, Brian (our two sons having grown up and left home), and I have been a potter since the mid 1990s. I have had an exhibition at the Gallery Equinox in Austinmer in 1999 with my brother-in-law (a photographer); participated in a group exhibition in April, 2002 at the Lewers Bequest Gallery in Emu Plains; and have taken part in many community art and craft shows. In July, 2005, along with other local artists and craftspeople, my work was selected to represent the Nepean area at an exhibition in Hakusan in Japan, a city which shares a friendship with Penrith. In February 2007, several pieces were selected by Penrith City Council as gifts to cities in Japan and South Korea.

I work mainly with slip cast earthenware and handbuilding, and also enjoy painting on tiles as if on a canvas, and relish the thought that I am following a tradition thousands of years old, shared by many cultures. I like to produce a series of pots based on a common theme with variations in colour and style rather than the same thing over and over.

Because each pot is at least a little different (quite often very different) from others painted with the same design, I give them all an individual number which can be found, along with the name of the design, on the under side.

The Designs Page has a little more information on the main features of my designs.
