Welcome to Bunbury Flying School . Our aim is to provide personalised, cost effective training in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.

We operate a fleet of four aircraft based at Bunbury Airport which is a relaxed two hour drive South of Perth and about one hour drive from the heart of the South West wine region, Margaret River .

Operating from a non-controlled aerodrome with our training area immediately adjacent to the airport saves valuable time and money. Sitting on the tarmac in a line of aircraft waiting to take off whilst watching the hour meter tick over is not something we have to endure here in Bunbury. There are also no landing fees or airspace charges at Bunbury Airport .

Bunbury Flying School conducts flight training from ab-initio through to Commercial Pilot level with various other training available such as retractable endorsements.

We can also offer flight training from Serpentine Airport which is a thirty minute drive South of Jandakot Airport in Perth and offers significant cost benefits.

Scenic Flights

As well as conducting flight training we also offer scenic flights and charter services on demand. We can offer standard scenic flight itineraries or you may specify a particular route or destination which you would prefer. The scenic flights are conducted in a Cherokee 180 aircraft which has three passenger seats available ľall window seats!

Our shortest scenic flight is a thirty minute trip around Bunbury taking in the Leschenault Inlet to the North and viewing the CBD of Bunbury and the coast to the South of the city towards Dalyellup. If there are particular parts of Bunbury or surrounding areas that you would like to see this can usually be accommodated by discussing it with your pilot.

Scenic Route One takes around one and a half hours and follows the coastline South from Bunbury passing Busselton and Dunsborough on the way to Cape Naturaliste and then again Southwards to Cape Leeuwin and Augusta then tracking North towards Busselton and returning to Bunbury. This is an excellent way to view the coastline and discover the hidden bays around the capes area.

Scenic Route Two is around one hour in duration and is similar to route one but only travels as far South as Prevelly and the town of Margaret River before turning Northwards and returning to Bunbury.

Charter Flights

Bunbury Flying School also conducts passenger carrying charter flights on demand to locations anywhere in Australia . Typical destinations include Perth , Rottnest, Albany and Kalgoorlie but most destinations can be accommodated. Travelling by air has significant time and cost benefits which usually make the overall cost of chartering an aircraft quite attractive. For example a flight direct to Rottnest Island will take around fifty minutes as compared to a two hour drive to Fremantle followed by a forty five minute ferry trip. This makes a day trip to Rottnest a real possibility. Similarly a flight direct to Albany normally takes around one hour and twenty minutes giving a significant saving in time and accommodation costs required for a business trip. Simply contact Bunbury Flying School for a quotation for a charter flight to your destination.

Please read through the information on our website and do not hesitate to contact us if you require any further information. Happy Flying.
