/Letters Of ComplaintAs I mention in my notes to Domestic Utopia, I released this as a solo track after a hissyfit related to my band, Descend Here, breaking up. This song was written for the launch of a youth arts festival in Rockingham. We were opening, basically, for a speech by the Mayor. Us. So we decided to write something for the occasion to try to piss him off. It didn't work. Mark wrote the verses for this one, I think I wrote the chorus and parts of the last verse. Then we did the music together. I used to perform this version solo, replacing the "do magic, baby!!" bit with extremely distorted, angry noise. Then I tried to do a gothy darkwave version, which sucked balls. Recently, Turbine 37 has had a stab at a version, which is very nice indeed. Floaty and ethereal-like. That'll get a release as soon as he nails the recording of it. Which I expect will be sometime soon, you lucky children... 19/05/2008 |
