/No SurprisesIt's funny how a song can go from being the understated highlight of your live act to being an indulgence that nobody wants to watch anymore. That's what happened to this track once I started doing Creep. Like Old People though, it's nice to have a record of it and it's my best vocal on the LP. Actually, it's one of my better vocals full stop. Roly did a lot of work on remixing this from my Kraftwerky, droney arrangement. He recorded the vocals for this and for many of the other tracks on the LP, which was really a bit nicer of him than he needed to be, so I'm very grateful to him. I remember when he pulled up the slow-groove-80's-rock-beat in Groove Agent on the final verse, I was in hysterics at it's stupid semi-epicness. And the first "ah" thing at the start is pretty funny too. 19/05/2008 |
