Introduction

Many lower end drumkits are visually unappealing. They often come with plastic wraps around the shells and the colours are usually ordinary to say the least. The aim of this guide is to show you all the steps involved in refinishing your drums and making even the crappiest kit look appealing. There is alot of work that goes into doing this and you must be definite that you wish to perform this as once you unwrap the kit you can't put them back on. However once you see the results you will never want to see another wrap aslong as you live. Refinishing your drums is relatively inexpensive for the finish you achieve but it depends on what materials you already possess. Refinishing your drums is not something that you can do quickly or in a weekend. The labour required is for the most part light but the wealth of time is spent letting the lacquers/stains set properly.
