DEPORTIVO - JUVENTUS 1-1

Wednesday 18 Oct 2000, kick-off 8:45PM CET

Juventus and Deportivo, joint leaders of Group E, go head-to-head at the Spanish side's Riazor stadium tonight. And if the 0-0 from the first leg in Turin is anything to go by, this is likely to be a close one.

The conditions could be better: it is a wet and windy night in La Coruna and, of course, the absence of Zinedine Zidane - suspended - must be added to the list of disadvantages.

Alessandro Del Piero, however, should prove a more than capable replacement in the playmaker's role, behind a front pairing of Filippo Inzaghi and Darko Kovacevic. In midfield, Alessio Tacchinardi is back following a bout of flu. He has Edgar Davids alongside him. Gianluca Pessotto and captain Antonio Conte are covering the wings, ahead of a three-man defence comprising the usual suspects - Ciro Ferrara, Igor Tudor and Mark Iuliano.

Meanwhile, Deportivo manager Javier Irureta has had to do without skipper Fran. He has held faith with his usual front line - Pandiani is the lone centre forward with Turu Flores and Djalminha accompanying him from the wings.
