Thuram signs for Juventus

Juventus FC makes known that, starting from next football season, 2001/2002, the player Lilian Thuram will play at Juventus.

The five-year agreement foresees likewise the takeover and management of the French National defender.

Why did you choose Juventus?
"It was easy, I asked around, to my teammates as well, and I understood that I had to choose Juventus, because it's the best club".

French players have always earned great approbation at Juve. Now you'll be playing with Zidane and Trezeguet.
"Everybody knows Zidane. He's a star. I'm already lucky I have him as a National team mate. We've been team mates also at the Under 21 team. Now we share the same club. Not only is he a great champion, but he is also a humble person.
Trezeguet is an outstanding bomber. Italy doesn't know his power, yet. David makes very few mistakes; it seems like he's got this special magnet to attract the football with. this was my impression when he came to Monaco and did a trial. Next year we'll have some real fun playing together".
