There were over 7 thousand people in Villar Perosa to watch the traditional vernissage at Agnelli’s “home”. The bianconeri knew to entertain such a big audience with a nice show and lots of goals. The match against the competitive Gian Piero Gasperini’s under 21 team ends with two goals each for Del Piero, Trezeguet e Nedved and with one goal by Amoruso. The boys from Juve B did a very good match, and scored once with the ucrain player Kovalenko. For this match, Lippi had to renounce to some important players such as: Tudor, Kovacevic, Montero e Carini, that were called to play with their national teams, and the enjuried Conte, O'Neill and Athirson, and the recent dad – for the third time - Ciro Ferrara, allowed to leave the team to stay with his wife, Paola, and the new comer Giambattista.
Juventus A is lined up with Buffon goalkeeping, four men’s defence with Birindelli, Thuram, Iuliano and Pessotto, Zambrotta, Tacchinardi, Davids Nedved in the midfield, Del Piero e Trezeguet forwards. The young players of Juve B showed to be competitives and lined up, among others, new arrivals, like the goalkeeper Bonnefoi, besides Piccolo, Romano, Vitone and Pericard, returning from the training period in Chatillion with the major team.
Marcello Lippi’s players last really little in giving
joys to the fans. After just one minute of playing is Alex Del Piero who beats
Bonnefoi after a nice passing by Nedved, but the referee declares it void for
off-side.
At the 12' the scene is the same, this time regular, but the young goalkeeper,
Bonnefoi, shows his numbers veering off with his foot. At the 21' it is still a
french show: Trezeguet’s shot and nice low-keeping by Bonnefoi. A minute later
the match turns. On a cross from the right end by Birindelli, The referee sees
an hand touching in the box by Fofana and gives a penalty that Del Piero, the
specialist, scores. Second goal at the 29'. Tacchinardi gives it long for
Zambrotta whose passing is perfect for Trezeguet that scores in the empty
goal.An outline that works might not be changed: at the 38’ comes the third
goal, always by the same players Tacchinardi-Zambrotta-Trezeguet.
Del Piero’s funambolic plays entertain the audience but find in Bonnefoi a
difficult obstacle to be passed. At the end of the first half is 3- 0.
Second half. Lots of substitution, as expected. The defence, in particular suffer lots of changes. In front of Rampulla, are lined up Birindelli, the young Piccolo (that switch his team ) and Paramatti, with Zenoni playing on the right side, between the defence and the midfield, where only Maresca take the place of Davids, Amoruso, in the forward, goes to play with Del Piero. Many substitution also in the under21 team where three young players of the former U.R.S.S. ucrain Kovalenko, uzbek Zeytulaev, and russian Boudianski find their place
Rampulla has to do something that Buffonn did not succeded in: show his good shape on a Romano’s shot, after a nice passing from Rondinella. A team starts the second half with a canceled goal, a masterpiece from Amoruso that might deserve confirmation only for his technical play. As it is wonderful Nedved’s shot as the ball flies past, saved on the goal-line by Fumasoli. Unlucky match for Paramatti, forced to go out after just a fifteen minute of playing for an enjury at the his right ankle, he his substituted by Pessotto. At the 20' one of the moment that everyone wanted to see: Pavel Nedved’s goal. Icredible passing from Del Piero for the Czechmen who stops the ball and scores with a nice shot. From 4-0 it is suddenly 4-1, thanks to the very good insertion from Kovalenko that beats Rampulla. At the 30’ is Zambrotta, in "assistman" shape, gives Amoruso the chance to score the fifth goal. Talking about favours one to another, here’s the touch from Nedved for Del Piero right shot as the balls flies past: 6-1. It is the last play from Alex, that leaves his place to Pericard. Glory for Mirante who, goalkeeping for the under21 team, does not allow the opponents to score many times, in particular to an inspired Amoruso. At the end comes the seventh goal, scored by Nedved, who beats the net on a beautiful passing from Pericard. At the end. it is 7-1
