The best medicine for Juventus, after the elimination from the Champions League at the hands of Bayern Leverkusen, is today's victory, which allow them to remain a point behind the leading duo, AS Roma and Inter.

All it took today for the Bianconeri to bury a unmotivated and scared Verona, was a goal by Nedved, after a quick one-two combination with striker Amoruso, in the first half.

It was immediately obvious to the Bianconeri, that after Roma's victory on Atalanta yesterday evening, that they had to win: they were certainly helped by a Verona who was only concentrating on defending a possible draw. As soon as the Bianconeri scored their goal, in the 39th minute of the first half, they immediately sat back only bothering to hold onto to the lead: whereas Verona seemed completely disorganised and with no intention of creating the home side any dangers.

In the second half the match became even more boring, if possible, with Juventus holding onto the ball and Verona still nowhere to be seen on the pitch. With only 15 minutes left in the match the two managers changed a few players around, in the attempt to provoke some form of reaction, to no avail. In reality Verona did have their best chance of the match in the 91st minute of the match with Mutu, but the Rumanian put the ball wide from an advantageous position.

A minute later the referee put an end to this awful match, that as far as the Bianconeri are concerned, was a very positive one: whereas for Verona this one pushes them closer to the relegation area than to the EUFA Cup one of the Table.
