The importance of having a Will
Having a current Will leaves a clear guide for all parties concerned of how you want your assets distributed and may avoid lengthy court battles by parties disputing over your assets and children.

The role of your executor: The executor administers your estate
Before you appoint a friend or relative as executor you should consider if the person will be able to perform the task, particularly as they may be in a state of grief. You may consider it more appropriate to appoint our firm to act as your executor. We offer a free Will making service when you nominate our firm as the executor.

Time required for administration of an estate
We cannot place a fixed time on how long it will take to administer an estate as it depends on the various factors involved. As a guide estates that are not complex should be completed within 6 months.

How much does it cost
We inform your executor of the charges involved before we commence work. We’ll enter into a client agreement with your executor.

The importance of an Enduring Power of Attorney
An Enduring Power of Attorney allows you to authorise somebody to look after your financial affairs and/or health matters if you are unable to do so.

One reason you may be unable to look after your affairs could be because you are going overseas and need somebody to look after them for the period of time you are out of the country.

Another reason could be that you are involved in an accident and unable to act until you recover. Without an Enduring Power of Attorney a Government body could be nominated to manage your affairs.

An Enduring Power of Attorney allows you to nominate people that you trust to look after your affairs.
