Activities

PartySanta Paws visits each Christmas during our Fancy Dress Day (for the dogs) A Doggie Day Care and Puppy Creche aims to improve the quality of life for your special pet, allowing them to mix and socialise with their own, exercise excess energy while owners are at work or shopping, reducing separation anxiety and nervous behaviour. Halloween and other events are also celebrated.

SantapawsThere are many dog lovers who work long hours and have many responsibilities with family and other commitments. You will be astounded at the change in your dog- its like visiting a health spa for them. They're active, engaged, stimulated, socialised and tired at the end of the day. The exercise they get reduces boisterous behaviour for an owner returning home. The playtime can reduce boredom and stress, which can lead to destructive behaviour. Many a Melbourne garden exists only because the family pooch is tired after days at Doggie Day Care.

We are also a member of PIAA (Pet Industry Association of Australia).

Socialisation

The "critical-period" of socialisation handling & training of pups is between 6 - 16 weeks of age.

At this time it is important to expose the puppy to as many novel things as possible in a non-threatening way.

This early socialisation is critical because even a small amount of experience at this age can have long-lasting effects on your dog.

Puppies that are not exposed to other dogs during this socialisation period are more likely o develop aggressive or fearful responses than other dogs later in life.

Just as puppies that are not socialised to people often develop behavioural problems.
