THE history OF:

GUNNADOO PRODUCTIONS was established in 1986 at Airlie Beach Queensland by Darren Hicks. Having a band of his own (THE GUNNADOO BAND) Darren realized there was a need for professional sound equipment hire and production in and around the Whitsundays, as the area has one of the best live music industries in Queensland. Darren then found his true career in life as a sound engineer, he is still actively playing bass, didgeridoo and mandolin in 2 duos throughout the Whitsundays. Sadly the Gunnadoo Australiana Band had to fold in 2003 due to lack of work in the region so now our tourists don't get to have a taste of our traditional musical history.. He was later joined by Carmen, his partner of 9 years, whose main jobs involve being stage manager/roadie/ lighting chick and back up sound engineer.

Being a small company, having only 2 crew members, Gunnadoo Productions provides personalized service to meet the requirements of our customers. Gunnadoo Productions is equipped to do indoor/outdoor concerts, small conferences, public address systems, hire of small/medium/large PA's for travelling acts, small/medium lightshows, we are able to light rooms for dinners etc and have now added a laser lightshow to the company, we can also find the act that is just right for any situation, whether it is a convention, a concert, a venue gig or residency in the Whitsunday region. Our true specialty is audio, with Darren now being recognised Australia wide as one of the best sound engineers, he is often requested by acts to do their sound during their Queensland tours, to quote Phil Emmanuel      "HE HAS THE BEST EARS IN THE BUSINESS" Thanks for all your support Phil.
