This extremely rare herb has only been commercially available in recent years. Known by the Chontal people of Chiapis as a herb useful as a divinatory medicine.
Using the herb as a tea they claimed would induce dreaming that would reveal answers to village problems, find lost objects, personal difficulties and inspired messages from the astral plane.
As a smoke it was said to bring on a euphoric dream like feeling.

Notes: From Mexico, is known as an important medicinal divinatory plant there and in other areas. Bitter leaves dried and smoked or made into tea, or both together to enhance lucid dreaming. Easy to grow in sub-tropical areas. Renowned plant in Mexico and other parts of Central America. Chontal Indian medicine men are reported to know it by the name Thle-pelakano or "leaf of god", Plants of the Gods. Easy to grow, likes sunny well drained position.
