By not having to pay for this right we are able to save the customer money..

This is then added to a standardised, extracted product from Guarana. Then after further research we found that this is what most companies are selling as a listed health food supplement.

The more a herb is processed the chances of contamination and quality loss are likely to occur. At present (12/97) ÔBullivantsÕ has a recall on their childrens chewable Echinacea tablets when metal filings were found to have possibly contaminated two batches of tablets.

Grades of Guarana

A common complaint about Guarana is the taste or texture. This is a problem as with most products there are different grades and preperations. Low grade Guarana is a terrible product and would put anyone off using Guarana in their diet. We use Guarana everyday at Medicine Garden, mostly in the Ripleys BriteÕnÕUp blend that we developed for our own use and to please the palet of more consumers.

This is usually prepeared for the US market and a little of this is still on the Australian market. This is Guarana powder mixed possibly with carob, cocoa or cassava powder.

 

Pure Guarana powder

Guarana seeds are encased in a dry gritty husk. This Guarana, that is mostly on the Australian market, is a combination of the seed and the husk ground together. A poor product manufactured for export and is much cheaper than pure Guarana seed powder which is usually saved for the local market and is more expensive. This is often used in tablets and for liquid extract preperations.
