Huh. Okay, I am getting slack about updating this already. But since I also have to update my rant on the UniSFA webpage and all, I have much to do. And uni work. Urgh.
Yes, it is an excuse.
That's me, there. I didn't take it, a young man at uni did when I let him play with my digital camera.
I've been pondering some

No, I'm not getting slack about updating this already - I've been ill. Flu. Sucks. At the moment I'm only intermittently capable of human speech, but otherwise I'm rapidly improving. Cheer. Cheer. But gently.
Anyway, since I've been sick, I haven't been taking all that many pictures, so today's picture is one taken last week, and is still on the theme of ducks.
Taken by the Reflections Pool at uni. I'm still sick, so I'll add it to the gallery next update.
And because I've been sick, I haven't been getting up to a whole lot. Vibes for Health go out too to my history professor, who's, like, fifty at least, and is having a tonsillectomy, which has to suck.

I'm going to leave a couple of days' worth of past entries on this page, if only to save me having to futz with an archive (which, you'll note, I haven't even started yet) more than about once a week. But images will be replaced with their thumbnails.
For today's major structural change: the Gallery is in place. Yesterday's and today's images are already there. Go me. Of course, whether I'll stay this efficient after Easter Break ends is more doubtful.
Today's Image:
I took this on the shore of the Swan River on a windy day - very windy, hence the choppiness of the water.
About the only thing of real significance I did today was go to Centrelink to apply for a new Health Care Card. Woot. There's something very soul-draining about Centrelink, whether it's just the array of depressed, stressed people queueing, the general dehumanising humiliation of their system, or the irksome pathos of the TV sets in the waiting area playing daytime soapies with the sound too low to hear - and the bored "clients" staring vacuously at these strange, alien Americans whose troubles are improbable enough to be entertainment, and who don't have to deal with bureaucratic idiocy just to get by - or at least, fail to get by more slowly.
I hate going there.
Tonight: Bailing on spending the evening with Toby and some serious StarCraft action due to a headache.

First entry!
A lot's been happening this week, but most of it's pretty much dull in the retelling. This is, mind you, something of an experiment; if we are the stories we tell about ourselves (and we are), how will I be changed by putting the narrative of my life in a permanent public form?
Otherwise expressed as: What the hell, let's make this an ego trip. But it's also about the pretty, and since I have both some quite sexy 35mm SLR cameras and a SONY Cybershot digital camera, the pretty will be in the pictures.
Today's Image:
If all goes well, every day I shall bring to you a different image of surpassing beauty. And, of course, I'll set up an archive page for them once I've been through more than, you know, one.
Gradually I'll introduce you all to my life. The cast of characters is, indeed, quite long, and so's the location set. diotima was taken in front of Winthrop Hall, at the University of Western Australia, which I attend.
I'll also actually include some diary, of course, with all sorts of fascinating anecdotes, but tonight, ah, tonight I don't feel like it.
And so you see.
