Tachymetric Relay

Is your XN6 stopping with out any real reason? I have had this same problem with my 505STI and eventually discovered it was the tachymetric relay. The relay is mounted on the steering column under the dash. Remove the cover and look for a relay with a blue base.
Now that you have found it, you can take the cover off.

We can now look for the problem. Carefully inspect the solder joints on the circuit board to determine if the relay or electronics are loose (picture A below). Often, well at least once, just a month ago, this happened to me. I re-soldered the connections and was back on the road.
If the solder joints look ok, inspect the small relay mounted on the circuit board and clean the small contacts with a very fine emory cloth or electronic contact cleaner.

The red arrow indicates the location of the contacts that should be cleaned (picture B above). The dirty contact problem left me stranded about five years ago, once cleaned the car ran strong.
