CAUTION:

DON'T DO WHAT I DID, AVOID DRILLING THRU WIRING BY REMOVING INTERIOR CARPET FIRST

The insulation is pop riveted with "penny" washers on:

The Underfloor
The Tunnel sides
The Tunnel top

Despite this insulation, floor heat inflow commences immediately aft of the shield, the insulation on its own cannot block the heat.

The insulation spans the distance between the chassis frames to which it is tucked into.

 

The insualtion consist of:

1 layer of 1/16" Semi rigid fibre glass mat
1 thin layer of heat reflective Aluminium foil
1 further layer of Semi rigid fibre glass mat

The whole mat was sewen together to become a unit.
