Where are we?

The IDHS is a non-profit organisation located in the coastal town of Dongara, Western Australia, which is about 350km (200 miles) north of the capital city, Perth (click the map to the right for more details). The twin towns of Dongara and Port Denison are located at the mouth of the Irwin River, the hinterland is referred to as the Irwin District.

What do we do?

The IDHS was founded in 1964 and is dedicated to preserving the history of the Irwin District through our research office and museums located at the Old Police Station and Russ Cottage.
