Josephine Mellick’s debut album Feel Your Way contains 12 original tracks, all but one written in
Broome in north Western Australia.
Her honey smooth vocals and harmonies are accompanied by some of WA’s finest
musicians including Ben Franz on electric and acoustic bass, Bob Patient on
piano, rhodes and hammond organ, Jean-Guy Lemire on harmonica and grammy award
winner Lucky Oceans playing accordion on Goodbye
and The Medicine.
Josephine says these songs are her stories. They ride the
joys and heartaches of love and are affirming and reverent of life in all its
complexity. Her music is not confined to style; loosely described contemporary
folk it traverses R&B, blues, jazz, reggae, rock and a capella territories.
The album was produced, recorded and mixed by Pete Grandison
at Shanghai Twang Studios inFremantle,
Western Australia and mastered by
James Hewgill at JHM.
