George was a blacksmith and worked on Mannanarie & Canowie stations for several years. In 1878 he went to Jamestown and worked as a blacksmith but later became a driver for Dr. Cockburn of horse drawn vehicles then motor cars, Drs. patten, Portland and Aitkin.
He lived in the original Cottage Hospital, Jamestown but in 1913 retired to Leamington with his son William.
He married Margaret HIGGINS - 200, 24 Apr 1875 in STH AUST. Born in IRELAND. Died 13 Jul 1912 in STH AUST.
