Fremantle is the gateway port to Western Australia. If you're thinking about a visit to Fremantle, a good place to start is the Fremantle Focus page, a local site run by the City of Fremantle and where where you can find out virtually everything you need to know about our wonderful city. More specifically you can go straight to their Travellers guide and get down to the nitty gritty.

FREMANTLE WALKS

A walk around a city is a really good way to get to know it and a site that shows walks around Fremantle is Fremantle Trails. Their site will give you downloadable maps of at least 10 walks and we recommend that you visit to see the diversity available in the city.

WEATHER

To see what the weather is like in Fremantle at this very instant, go to the Fishermans Wharf web-cam at the Coastal Data Centre. The image you will see there looks southwest into the Fremantle fishing boat harbour from the roof of Marine House, Fremantle. It updates every minute. If it's night time you may want to go to the CoastCam home page and select another camera or archive to see what todays weather was like.

Incidentally Kilkellys is about 500 metres from this webcam of Fishermans Wharf, which is pointed at the waterfront over the road.

TRANSPORT

Perth Airport <-> Fremantle

Shuttle Bus
This service available via bookings only. To make a booking, go to the Freo shuttle bus website for the latest information. See their prices page to work out the expected fare, because of the multiple pickups the timing to and from the airport to Fremantle is about 1 hour.
Taxis
Taxi services are available at Perth Airport from designated pickup points. The fare from Perth Airport to Fremantle will be in the vicinity of $45 - $50 and travel time should be 30 - 40 minutes depending on the traffic flow.

Public Transport
Fremantle is a central train, bus and ferry service centre. The Transperth Journey Planner will help you with the correct connections and timetables. A free CAT (Central Area Transit) bus service loops through the city. Stop 23 is in Marine Terrace opposite Kilkellys, and Stop 1 is located at the Fremantle Train Station.
