The objects of ARPG WA Inc are:

(a) To provide an association whereby any incorporated body or organisation or association operating any form of tourist or heritage railway or tramway or operating a railway or tramway museum or in any way interested in the preservation or operation of railways, tramways or the rolling stock, equipment or artifacts associated with railways or tramways may associate with organisations with similar interests for their mutual benefit and for the purpose of discussing their common interests and for promoting their respective activities.

(b) To co-ordinate and facilitate the preservation and operation of railway and tramway heritage items particularly in Western Australia.

(c) To provide members of the Association with assistance and support in their aims of preserving railways tramways including infrastructure, rolling stock, equipment, artifacts and other associated heritage items.

(d) To protect and advance the character, status and interests of the operations of the members.

(e) To represent to the Government and other interested parties the interests of members collectively or individually concerning legislative measures, proposals, regulations or enactments that may affect the interests of the association or members.

(f) To promote public interest in historic railways, tramways, infrastructure and trains and trams and draw to the attention of Local, State and Federal Governments to the role played by members in preserving, re-creating and presenting to the community aspects of railway and tramway heritage.

(g) To facilitate co-operation between members towards the joint use of specialized resource requirements and information to promote and improve their image and service to the public.

(h) To promote association by members with similar bodies with the aim of collecting and displaying railway and tramway heritage and preserving heritage standards.

(i) To provide representatives on behalf of all members on appropriate government or other organisations and associations of mutual interest to advance the aims of the members.

(j) To arrange common and advisory services for members when requested to assist in the development, promotion and operation of their railway and tramway heritage activities.

(k) To produce, edit, print, publish issue or circulate such papers, periodicals, books, circulars and other literary matter as may seem conducive to the objects of the Association.

(l) To produce, edit, publish, issue or circulate and preserve such auditory and visual records of railway and tramway operation as may seem conducive to the objects of the Association
