The Augusta coastline provides many locations for land based whale watching with a higher perspective, Point Mathew and car parks along the road to the lighthouse offer excellent views of the whales at play.
3 species of whales visit the Augusta coastline during the migration, the Humpback, Southern Right and more recently the rare and endangered Blue Whale.
Hardy Inlet is home to several dolphins and can be seen cruising the shallows chasing fish or just playing on most days.
If you are fortunate you may even spot a pod proudly showing off a new born calf, as dolphin births are regularly documented in these waters. |
