"Dunolly Museum"
Goldfields Historical & Arts Society Inc. A9641

75 Broadway Dunolly, Victoria, Australia.
The Society holds numerous unique records and information often useful to people researching family history in the district. It's not just a museum.

George Bernard Shaw: “If you cannot get rid of the family skeleton, you may as well make it dance.”

It is not always possible to be open as advertised below. If you are making a specific trip to visit or for research, avoid disapointment. Please use the contact section to make sure a member is available. There is no local contact (Dunolly) currently available.

Due to the ludicrous rises in energy and insurance costs, the Society has reluctantly introduced research fees. However, at the discretion of any individual Society member, fees are negotiable including contributions such as information to add to the Society’s records.

The museum is normally open Saturday and Sunday afternoons 1.30-4.00 and Tuesdays and Wednesdays 10.00-3.00
(These hours cannot be guaranteed due to limited number of volunteers or a predicted temperature in excess of 35)

Admission Fees to the Museum
$4 per adult and 20 cents per child.

Dunolly is a small town so finding the museum is easy. In the main street called Broadway, look for the cairn with the anvil mounted on top. The worlds largest gold nugget, the Welcome Stranger, was cut into pieces on this anvil.
