Welcome to my 7 1/4" scale page , This basically outlines a few items that I've made in this "Ride On" scale ; I began to build my Pedal Powered" loco in Sept 1997 & completed it around May 2000 ; I intend to make a body for it one day but it doesn't matter if it doesn't happen - at least I made it & it works!
Bumble Bee mk1
Although these pics might have taken a while to download if you're still using Dial-up - I hope that you can get some idea of what it is ; It's a 4 wheeled pedal loco that has 10 speed gears plus a Forward/Reverse gearbox & 4 wheeled brakes & it can tow a carriage or loco if required.
In pics 3 & 4 you can see how it looks not long after I completed it.
In these pics you can see how I've done the gear drive & the Brakes system on this project.
These 2 views ( above & below ) show the pair at my home in 2011.
The 2 holes in the buffer beam are where the safety chains & hooks will be located very soon.
Jeff Clifton style Bogies
A completed pair of 7 1/4" scale bogies ready for going under my carriage.
Here's a "Close up" pic showing the details.
Here's an "End" view of them back in 2003 or 04 ; As you might notice - I was in the process of organising where the tracks will be going around the back yard at that time.
Bogie pic 4 shows the side profile while the bogie pic below ( pic 5 ) shows a corner view with an annoying Yellow pice of tarpaulin that I hadn't noticed when I took the pic recently.
EX Cohunu Koala Park carriage
This 1st pic show my carriage & loco up at the Northern Districts club site in Balcatta W.A. back in 2005.
This pic shows the rebuilt carriage that used to be a part of the original Cohunu Park Railway when it 1st opened in the 1980's, I purchased the carriage & built the bogies for it as it didn't come with any ( you'll see them under it in these pics ) ; These pics were taken up at the Northern Districts minature railway tracksite in Balcatta W.A. in February 2005 by me , My items have visited there from time-to-time quite a few years ago now.
The track that they're sitting on was also made by me with some help by a friend.
My 7 1/4" scale signal
This signal was on my "Current Projects" page for quite sometime while I was making it , It is now complete & is made to a scale of 3" to the Foot scale which this signal represents an "Upper Quadrant" version , This signal is about 27Ft tall in full scale.
In these 2 pics you can see how much my son Chris has grown since the 1st pic ( above ) & the 2nd pic ( below ) during the time I've been building it , I've been working on it over the past 3 1/2 years ( part time ).
Here's another pic without us in the way - completed.

I hope to add more pics here later when there are more to add.
