Cawdor Castle, Scotland. This is the setting of Shakespeares' MacBeth, the Thane of Cawdor. Tour the grounds or the castle. Residence of the of the current Lord Cawdor. Changjyeon Waterfall, Jeju-do, South Korea. On the honeymooners' island. This area is wonderful during the summer months when rainfall is aplenty. Be careful to miss the monsoon period though. Changjyeon Waterfall is situated on the north side of the island and you'll need a car to get there. The site is a famous setting for honeymoon couples to be photographed. Chirk Castle, Wales, belongs to the National Trust and has been preserved for all generations to enjoy. There is a great deal of artwork on display and it is open to the public.
Compton Castle, England Garden in Dazaifu, Japan. The gardens in the area are a highlight and this one was in the guidebook as a must see. Dunster Castle, England
Edinburgh Castle, Scotland. One of the most magnificent castles in the British Isles to visit. Set your watch to the one o'clock cannon which is fired everyday. The Royal Tattoo takes place at the castle grounds every year in October. Eilean Donan Castle, Scotland. The film "Highlander" was shot here. Flam, Norway. The railway ride to Flam has been included as one of the three most beautiful in the world. Situated less than two hours by rail from Bergen, it is easily accessible and makes for a lovely outing.
Mt Fuji, Japan. The most famous mountain in the world, it is also one of the most climbed. Don't be surprised to have hundreds of grandpeople passing you on the way to the summit., the tourists flock here. Only last century it was possible to see Fuji-san from Tokyo, 100 kms away, but pollution renders that to a distant memory. If you can make the summit for a 4 am sunrise you will be greeted with one of the most wonderous sights in the world. Fukuchiyama-jo, Japan. Samurai swords are still handmade and can be bought but you require an export licence to take them out of Japna. Ham House, London.  Built by the Duke of Lauderdale as a private residence. Now belongs to the National Trust and is open to the public.
