Going Fishing
I’ve fished in many places but let me tell you mate.
I must be doing something wrong, the fish won’t take my bait.
I rig my gear the proper way, I do things by the book.
If only all the fish could read they might jump on my hook.
I check the tides before I go, make sure the weathers right.
I even ask the Lord above, to tell the fish to bite.
I read the local papers, and note the fish report.
I check all information on where the fish are caught.
Well prepared, I then head off to where the fish are on,
but when I finally get there the fish are usually gone.
Now, on the odd occasion, the fish are on the line.
Well, that is all the others but still won’t get on mine.
I change the hook I’m using, it mustn’t be the right rig.
The line that I have is too heavy, or maybe I’m fishing too big.
After I make all the changes, and think that I’ve got it all right,
I cast out a line and get started but still, the fishes won’t bite.
So why do I ever go fishing? Or to catch one, what should I do?
The fish seem to know that I’m coming, cause they all decide to shoot through.
Well, maybe the fishes don’t like me, the reason, I’ll never know why.
But while there are fish in the water, I’ll always be out there to try.
