The story starts in Tipperary, Ireland in the 1840s with Michael O’Keefe (Keefe), as a baby, on his journey to Gundagai, NSW, Australia with his parents, Dennis and Mary. It follows the lives of Michael and his family through 90 years of Australia’s growth to Federation; the rise of the Union Movement; the establishment of political parties; Australia’s involvement in World War One and the effect of the Depression in the 1930s.
