The AWA FISK Radiola Portable Valve Radio which I have restored to full working condition. This one was quite a challenge. You can see some before and after shots of the underside of the chassis. It was a pity to have to lose some of the original AWA capacitors, but some were too far gone. I kept as many as possible that weren't too far off value. The hardest bit was tracking down and fixing an open circuit in one of the IF transformers. Initially I used a power supply from a Radiola 545P to provide the 90 volts HT and an old lab supply for the 1.5 v heater supply. A very satisfying project!

I subsequently acquired a Radiola Model 63 power supply for this radio. (The Model R65 and 63 are technically identical.) It came with a full circuit diagram of both the power supply and the radio - what a find!  The power supply restored well but had to lose the original cables - the rubber insulation was lethal. The supply now does a sterling job - see below.
