DOLPHIN WATCH

There are over 400 wild dolphins in the bay at Monkey Mia. These dolphins have been researched by scientists for the last 12 years and have provided most of our knowledge about dolphin behaviour. Every dolphin has been named and their relationships recorded. Come sailing and hear about their fascinating behaviour as you watch them swimming alongside and riding the bows.

You'll be thrilled by antics of dolphins in the wild, when you see them up close, from the fabulous 60ft sailing catamaran, "Shotover".

See the Origin of the Mermaid Myth!

Come and see what those sailors dreamt about - a 2 to 3 metre marine mammal related to the elephant! Monkey Mia is located close to a dugong breeding ground and turtles abound in this area as well. Here's an opportunity to see something you've never seen before. These are shy creatures, difficult to find and approach, and we ask you to watch in total stillness. Sometimes this experience requires a lot of patience - parents please think about this before bringing the children.

SUNSET CRUISE

Monkey Mia Magic at Sunset

Soak up the tranquillity and romance of a magnificent Monkey Mia sunset. Drift away with some incredibly beautiful relaxation music as the stars begin their ride. You'll be back in time for dinner. It's a one and a half hour experience you'll treasure forever and it's only $24. Departure times vary in accordance with the *sunset.

*The sunset cruise follows the sun so the departure time varies throughout the year.

June - 4pm July, Aug - 4.30pm Sept, Oct - 5pm Nov - 5.30pm.

It can get cold so bring a jacket and it you feel the cold bring long pants as well. Sunscreen is essential. Appropriate footwear is bare feet or white soles.
